This is a sanctuary, not a zoo and if you take your family here you will be sure to learn loads and fall in love with the animals
Wales Ape & Monkey Sanctuary’s prime purpose is providing a good life for Unwanted animals, at the same time as educating people to reduce the number of animals being taken from the wild or bred into captivity.
Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary are dedicated to providing unwanted animals with a comfortable and dignified existence for the remainder of their natural lives. This means putting the needs of the animal first rather than ensuring it is simply displayed to the public in the optimum way.
Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary welcome visitors to come and see their work and to participate in any way they can to help them continue to provide a vital service yo unwanted and sometimes infirm monkeys and apes, especially those that require special care.
Although they specialise in the care and protection of primates they cannot stand by and see other animals in need of help. You will therefore find wolf dogs, horses, donkeys, cattle, pigs and others at our sanctuary. All are equally important members of the extended family.
