Martin’s Haven Beach in Pembrokeshire is a cute little cove where the kids can imagine they are playing on the set of a pirate movie!
It’s pretty rocky so definitely not ideal for pushchairs but an absolute treasure trove for gathering pebbles to paint with the family and one of the best local spots for rock pooling with the little ones.
This beach is super close to Skomer Marine Nature Reserve and is actually where the boat leave from for the day trips to Skomer Island, as well as for the Grassholm Cruises. Skomer Island is well known to families who love to see all the puffins and bluebells.
This beach is popular with many water sports especially snorkelling close to shore, which is great when its high tide as most of the beach gets covered.
You will find toilets near the slipway. There is no lifeguard service here and dogs are allowed all year round.
If you are a National Trust member then you will be able to use the nearby car park over the hill, for free. Remember if you are a National Trust member using the car park to scan your card at the pay and display to show support for this site as explained in your yearly members pack.
This National Trust car park is listed as one of the best stargazing sites in Pembrokeshire and is a Dark Sky Discovery Sites, which means it’s nationally recognised as one of the best places for stargazing in the UK. In Pembrokeshire there are seven National Trust Car Parks and one National Trust Picnic site that are ranked the best for stargazing. Click Here to find out more about the Dark Sky Discovery Sites.
