Carew Castle and Tidal Mill

Carew Castle and Tidal Mill’s rich history spans over 2,000 years and tells of knights of the realm, kingmakers, Elizabethan intrigue and Civil War devastation.

Carew Castle settings are overlooking a 23-acre Millpond and it also incorporates the only restored Tidal Mill in Wales, an 11th century Celtic cross, a Medieval bridge and a picnic area all linked by a mile-long circular walk, suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, with stunning views over the Millpond.

Carew Castle has three disabled parking spaces in the main Castle car park and limited disabled parking only at the Mill. The ground floor of the Castle and Mill, both shops and Nest Tearoom, along with the mile-long walk are all wheelchair friendly

There are toilets at the Castle Visitor Centre, but none at Carew Tidal Mill. There are also two disabled toilets at the Castle Visitor Centre and Mill Lane which need to be opened with a RADA key, you can ask in the Mill for help with this.

Mobility scooters are available for hire on request from the Castle Visitor Centre.

There is plenty of free parking for cars and coaches in the main Castle car park. Plus, there is a second car park for cars on the north side of the Millpond with spectacular views across to the Castle.

Carew Castle is dog friendly, with well-behaved dogs, on a lead, welcome everywhere on site, except for inside the Nest Tearoom.
