What's On      Places To Go      Local Life

Manorbier Castle

Located a few miles south west of Tenby, Manobier Castle is a Norman castle located in the village of Manorbier. It’s a rectangle shaped castle with curtain walls and round and square towers.

The Castle was known to be attacked twice, luckily leaving minor damage. In the 17th and 18th centuries Manorbier fell into decay, however in 1880 the castle was partially restored.

Nowadays Manorbier Castle is privately owned and open to the public to visit the gardens, dovecote and mill open. The castle is also a wedding venue, as well as hosting some public events each year and parts of it have been converted into a holiday cottage.

Families exploring Manorbier Castle can witness history to coming to life in the Great Hall, Chapel and Turrets as they are dotted with life size figures. You can see children of the Tudor period and some prisoners in the dungeon. There are refreshments, toilets facilities and parking is down at the Play and Display Beach Car Park
