Kensington Palace have this morning announced that Prince Harry and Megan Markle are expecting their First Baby.
The official statement released by Kensington Palace on Twitter reads: ‘Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019.
‘Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.’
Following their wedding in May 2018, at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, it was rumoured that the couple would try to start a family as soon as possible, although some thought they might put it off until after their Australia Tour.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have arrived today in Sydney to begin their official visit to Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand. It’s a 16-day tour and their first official royal tour since they wed.
Their tour coincides with the fourth Invictus Games, starting in Sydney on Saturday and includes dozens of official events including visits to the Sydney Opera House, Taronga Zoo, Bondi Beach, day trips to Melbourne, drought-stricken NSW town Dubbo, and Queensland's Fraser Island. So, fingers crossed Megan isn’t suffering to much from bad morning sickness or puffy ankles as they seem to have a busy few weeks ahead of them!
Harry and Meghan’s new arrival will be cousin to Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
