Cadbury Desserts Recalled over Fears of Containing Listeria Bacteria

Cadbury Desserts Recalled over Fears of Containing Listeria Bacteria

Müller are recalling two different Cadbury Dairy Milk Cheesecakes over fears of them containing the bacteria listeria monocytogenes, which in the Food Standards Agency warns in some cases can cause sepsis and meningitis.

Müller UK is recalling Cadbury Dairy Milk Cheesecake and Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel Cheesecake dessert products as a precaution due to the possible presence of listeria monocytogenes in the products.

Müller produces these Cheesecakes under license from Cadbury and has stressed that this does not impact any other products it produces for Cadbury; or Cadbury Cheesecake variants in the UK or other markets.

The Cheesecakes that are being Recalled are:

No other Müller UK products are known to be affected.

The Food Agency have said that if ingested listeria monocytogenes can cause symptoms similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.

However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.

Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one-month-old and people with weakened immune systems.
