Nominations are now open for the first ever Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Citizen Awards with categories including Child of Courage, Contribution to Charity, Good Neighbour Award and Sport Star of the Year.
Taking place on the 1s May the new celebration of civic pride takes will be held in the beautiful Orangery at Margam Country Park.
The purpose of the Mayor’s Citizen Awards is to recognise unsung heroes from across Neath Port Talbot who make a real difference to our communities.
There is Ten categories and the winners of each with their families will be invited to the awards evening at the Orangery on May 1st.
So, get your thinking caps on to if there is someone you know that you feel should be nominated for one of these awards and make sure you put it in on time, as nominations will close on Sunday 7th April, once closed a judging panel will have the difficult task of choosing the worthy winners.
Think of Neath Port Talbot people or community groups you think deserve recognition and nominate as soon as possible!

The Mayor of Neath Port Talbot, Cllr Dennis Keogh, said: “It’s an important part of the Mayor’s role to honour the part people play in serving their local communities. And these awards have categories reflecting all parts our community here in Neath Port Talbot from performing arts, sport, volunteering and charity work to children displaying courage, people being good neighbours and residents showing a commitment to our rich local environment.”
Neath Port Talbot Council are bringing you these awards in partnership with Swansea Bay Radio and you can submit your nomination online Here via Swansea Bay Radio’s website. Paper forms will be made available throughout Neath Port Talbot at a later date.
