Margam Country Park

Margam Country Park is a beautiful park by Port Talbot, with around 1,000 acres of land and has plenty of wildlife and activities for all the family to enjoy.
There is loads a Margam Park including a narrow gauge railway, children’s adventure playground, farm trail, Fairytale Land, Visitor Centre, Cafe, Toilets – including a baby changing facility, Gift Shop, Picturesque Castle Tudor-Gothic style Victorian Mansion House, Magnificent 18th Century Orangery, ornamental gardens and the best deer herd in Wales.
You can also take part in many activities at Margam Park including fishing, horse riding, cycling and orienteering. Go Ape and Margam Adventure are also based in the park.
The famous Margam Deer Herd roams through approximately 500 acres of parkland and dates from Norman times although several references are made to deer in this area during the time of Roman occupation. Since both red and pere david deers have been added to the herd. The pere david deer are actually an endangered species. The herd at the present time consists of approx 300 fallow deer, 64 red and 34 pere david.
During the Winter Season attractions are closed; the grounds and gardens remain open.
There is a pay and display car park, however you can also purchase a season ticket, which runs from 1st April through to 31st March the following year, although during special events at the park additional car parking charges may apply.

Park Opening Hours : Spring/Summer: 1st April – 3rd September 2018 10.00am – 6.00pm* Autumn/Winter: 4th September – 31st March 2019 10.00am – 4.30pm*
*Last entry into the park is 1 hour before closing.
On certain Mondays & Tuesdays throughout the Autumn/ Early Winter Season, the Park opens at 1pm.
