Llys y Frân Country Park

Llys y Frân reservoir is set in a country park with ancient oak woods and distant views of the Preseli Mountains. Llys y Frân reservoir is open to visitors all year round and is about ten miles northeast of Haverfordwest.

Llys y Frân Country Park is the perfect location for a Family Cycle. It has miles of beautiful mature woodland you can explore around Llys y Frân reservoir. There is a Family Cycling Trail that is around 1.5 miles long. It begins at the Visitor Centre and follows the eastern side of the reservoir, heading in and out of the trees which gives you the chance to experience off road cycling. There is even a Mountain Bike Hire centre during the cycling season April – September.

Llys y Frân Country Park also has plenty of picnic spots and is one of Wales’ finest trout fisheries a favourite for enthusiasts and beginners. You can hire all the tackle you need, and tuition is available on site, however rod licences must be obtained from a Post Office beforehand.

Llys y Frân is the perfect setting for plenty of water sport activities as, with good launching facilities you can bring your own sailing boat, Dinghy, board sailing, windsurfing and canoeing between March and September. Rowing boats are sometimes available for hire with lifejackets supplied. Children under the age of 8 are not allowed to take part in any boating activities.

There is also a craft and gift shop open from April to September from 8am, but open from 9am from November just for Fishing Permits.

There is an onsite café that is open daily from April to September and you can also get cold drinks, ice creams and other sweets from the Visitor Centre which is open until around the end of October

Price

It is Free to Enter the Country Park, however if you use the large car park at the Visitor Centre then there is a £2 parking charge.
