Changes to Bin Collections this Christmas and New Year in Neath Port Talbot

Here’s a little reminder that there will be some changes to bin collections dates for residents in Neath Port Talbot over the Christmas and New Year period

The all-important dates for when your recycling and general waste will be picked up over the Christmas and New Year’s period in Neath Port Talbot.

A lot more rubbish tends to be produced at this time of the year, so people are being urged to try and recycle as much as possible as follows:

  • White Plastic Bags or White Re-useable Hessain Bags – Carboard, plastics, cans and foil such as mince pie cases
  • Black Box with Lid – Mixed Paper such as wrapping paper and Christmas cards
  • Green Food Caddy – All your food waste so that it can be taken for composting
  • Black box without Lid – Glass bottles and jars

Christmas and New Year Bin Collections for 2021/22 will take place as follows:

There are also changes to recycling centre opening times over the Christmas period. All sites will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Don’t forget you must have booked a slot before you visit the Briton Ferry or Cymmer recycling centres and residents in the Swansea Valley area are able to use the recycling centre at Lower Cwmtwrch.

They are open on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and all other days as normal.

  • Lower Cwmtwrch Monday, Thursday and Friday 9am until 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am until 4pm, Tuesday and Wednesday closed
  • Briton Ferry Ind Est, Briton Ferry Neath 8.30am until 5pm
  • Margam Street, Port Talbot 11am until 5pm
