A fun-filled event for all the family, with lots of activities celebrating all things Welsh, including music, dance, stories, games – as well as the usual Garden favourites

A fun-filled event for all the family at The National Botanic Garden of Wales (one of the exciting new Hwyl Events held across West Wales). Pay the standard admission charge for the Garden and get access to a day full of exciting activities. Designed with children of all ages in mind, this Hwyl @ the Garden event will celebrate all things Welsh – including music, dance, storytelling, sport and games – as well as all the usual Garden favourites.

Children can pop on some clogs and join S4C television presenter, Tudur Phillips in learning some clocsio steps (Welsh clog dancing)  – or have a go on cute kids-sized harps at the ‘Mini Hands on Harps’ sessions with Shelley Fairplay.

Visit the Scarlets area to join in with some rugby fun – meet Cochyn, the team’s mascot, have a go on the inflatable passing game or take part in some mini rugby games.

Join Nick Brunger for a family storytelling walk around the Garden with tales from Wales – Or our younger visitors will enjoy the baby and toddler storytelling, singing and craft sessions in the Gallery.

Children can enjoy creating their own pottery on the potter’s wheel – or paint their own piece of pottery. A great souvenir of your day at Hwyl @ the Garden! (*Please note there will be a charge for the pottery sessions).

Take a look at a short film below of a recent Hwyl @ the Garden event, to give a taster of what to expect…
