Llanelli Christmas Carnival and official Christmas Light Switch-on is Carmarthenshire's largest community event and great fun for all the family.
15,000 people celebrate the start of the Christmas period with a huge carnival parade from Festival Fields out by the Coleg Sir Gar right into the town centre, entertainment, stalls, refreshments, aerial fireworks display, large funfair and switching on of the Christmas lights.
Unless anything Major changes it is Planned for the Llanelli Carnival to go ahead in 2021, different this year is Carmarthenshire County Council is running it rather than Llanelli Rural Council, so alot of information about this years event is still unconfirmed, as soon as we have more information we will update this page. Also Carmarthenshire County Council still not confirmed if COVID Pass will be required for this event, more info to follow.
What has been confirmed so far is the carnival procession will leave Festival Fields, Pwll, at 6.15pm on Friday 19th November, taking its usual route and will arrive in town shortly after the Christmas lights switch-on at 6.45pm. There will be a fun fair in Spring Gardens with a fireworks display marking the finale at 7.40pm
At 4pm there will be live entertainment and music begins

The Carnival Route
Confirmed Road closures for 2021 so far are the road closure of Station Road and Church Street, Llanelli, from its junction with Murray Street to its junction with Gelli Onn, will start at 5.45pm until 8pm. Gelli Onn will be closed to westbound traffic only, from its junction with Thomas Street.
A rolling road block will be in place along the carnival route from 6.15pm, affecting the route into the town centre from Pwll, through the town centre, along Queen Victoria Road, Erw Road and Waunlanyrafon. Traffic may be affected until around 8pm.
