Mae Gen Ti Ddreigiau/You’ve Got Dragons is set to dazzle families this July at Ffwrnes Theatre! This magical show by Taking Flight Theatre Company is landing at Ffwrnes (Stiwdio Stepni) in Llanelli on Saturday, 13th July. It’s the perfect outing for kids and parents alike, filled with fun and meaningful messages.

Mae Gen Ti Ddreigiau/You’ve Got Dragons brings the beloved book by Kathryn Cave and Nick Maland to life, adapted for the stage by the brilliant Manon Steffan Ros. This story dives into the challenges of facing our fears, or ‘dragons’, in a way that’s both touching and humorous. With live music and creative elements like captioning, British Sign Language (BSL), and audio description, it’s a show designed for everyone to enjoy.

The tale follows a child who learns to manage their ‘dragons’ – those pesky worries that can sometimes feel overwhelming. It’s a heartwarming story that helps kids and parents talk about their feelings and understand they’re not alone. The show is a perfect way to start conversations about mental health in a gentle, engaging manner.

Taking Flight Theatre Company is renowned for their inclusive productions that captivate audiences of all ages. Their previous tours of You’ve Got Dragons were a massive hit, and this new version promises to be just as wonderful. Director Elise Davison has a personal connection to the story and has crafted a show that’s both entertaining and insightful. With eco-friendly set designs by Ruth Stringer and the brilliant Ben Glover designing creative captions, this production is a visual treat too!

The talented cast includes Alex Nowak, Amy Helena, Catrin Mai Edwards, Eben James, and Grace O’Brien, with creative enabler Gethin Roberts. Taking Flight’s commitment to inclusive casting means you’ll see a diverse group of performers, including those who are disabled, Deaf, hard of hearing, blind or partially sighted, and neurodivergent.

Catch the Welsh language show (Sioe Gymraeg) at 10am or the English language show at 1.30pm, with a free creative workshop at 2.15pm for the English show attendees. Tickets are on a ‘pay-what-you-decide’ basis (£8, £5, £3, or £1), making it easy for everyone to join in the fun.
