Looking for a memorable way to spend October half term with the family? Dinefwr has got you covered with a range of activities set to captivate both young and old. Taking place within the historic walls of Newton House, Dinefwr transforms into a Woodland Theatre, offering a unique setting for storytelling and creativity, perfect for little minds that love to wander.

From the moment you step through the doors of Newton House, the Woodland Theatre comes to life with fascinating storytelling sessions. Here, you can immerse yourself in tales that bring the rich history of the Dinefwr estate to life. To spice up the experience, there’s even a dash of dressing up involved, so your little ones can truly get into character. And don’t worry, the creative fun isn’t limited to just listening; children are encouraged to channel their inner storyteller in the Woodland Theatre section of the Dining Room.

Feeling a bit peckish after all that excitement? Head to the café where an array of tasty treats await. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or craving a pumpkin spiced latte, they’ve got something for everyone’s taste buds.

But the fun at Dinefwr this October half term doesn’t stop when the sun sets. In fact, it takes a spooky twist! Newton House, known as one of the National Trust’s most haunted houses, opens its doors for a family-friendly torchlight tour aptly named ‘After Dark.’ This isn’t your average tour; it’s guided by the charismatic storyteller Ronnie Kerswell-O’Hara. Designed for families and young adventurers aged 8 and up, the tour is a blend of history, scares, and giggles. So, pack a torch and muster up some courage for this unique nighttime experience. The After Dark tour takes place on the 28th of October, from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. Please note that advance booking is essential for this particular event and can be done via the National Trust Website.

So whether you’re a history buff, a theatre enthusiast, or simply looking for a fun-filled day with the family, October Half Term at Dinefwr offers something enchanting for everyone. And remember, no booking is necessary to participate in the day activities, so feel free to just show up and join in on the woodland magic!
