Open Farm Sunday 2021 Online Events

Have your ever-wondered what farm life is like? Well, wonder no more because as you and the family can get an insight into farm life for FREE with the Annual LEAF Open Farm Sunday event which this year is going Online.

Open Farm Sunday was started in 2006 and over 1600 farmers across the UK have opened their gates and welcomed 2 million people onto their farm for one Sunday each year, which is usually in June every year.

This is an amazing opportunity for all members of your family old and young to discover what it is like to be a farmer, as well as helping children understand how farmers work hard producing our food.

Open Farm Sunday Is Going Online again in 2021

This year due to the continuation of the Coronavirus outbreak the annual Open Farm Sunday which families enjoy by visiting local Farms will not be able to happen as usual, but not to worry as it is going online.

Just like the original Open Farm Sunday, the Online Open Farm Sunday is the perfect opportunity for families to discover more about the story behind their food and there will be three of these virtual events being held in March, June and September this year.

Everyone is inviting to join LEAF on social media and meet some fabulous farmers and you can do this by following the hashtag #LOFS20, on Facebook and Twitter for endless farming related fun.

There are a host of farmers lined up to present to you ‘Live’ on Facebook, every hour on the hour from 8am, covering all aspects of the industry, from all corners of Great Britain.

Open Farm Sunday In March

The Online Open Farm Sunday will be taking place on Sunday 28th March 2021 and Here is the Line-up for their Facebook Live’s for the day

• 2pm - James Loder Symonds, Nonnington Farm, Canterbury (Arable)
• 2.30pm - Navaratnam Partheeban, Farm Vet (Dairy)
• 3pm - Shona Duncan, Duncan Family Farms, Glasgow (Sheep & Beef)
• 3.30pm - Lucy Allison, North Pembrokeshire (Dairy)
• 4pm - David Brass, Lakes Free Range Eggs, Cumbria
• 4.30pm - Rob James, Thanet Earth, Birchington (Salad)

Alongside this, farmers across the globe will be sharing their stories, images and videos of their farm with the public across social media, using the same hashtag #LOFS20, giving everyone a real insight into all aspects of farming, which we are sure loads of kids here in West Wales would love to see.

This live online event is going to be a great opportunity for families to see whats happening on farms across Britain, hear lots of farming stories and getting a sneak peek into what happens.

The Online Open Farm Sunday will be taking place on Sunday 13th June 2021 and the Line-up for their Facebook Live’s for the day will be updated here nearer the time.
