This May Bank Holiday come and enjoy a Palstave Axe Head Workshop at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village
Discover how some of the earliest metal tools were produced in prehistoric Britain and create your own Bronze Age palstave axe head.
Learn how to prepare a mould before using leather bellows to melt copper and tin on the charcoal furnace. You will also be given a complete picture of life and technology over 3,000 years ago.
This workshop will be led by James Dilley – an experimental archaeologist and a PhD Student at the University of Southampton, who specialises in prehistoric technology.
