The much-anticipated Swansea Council Fireworks Display is making its grand return, and it’s pulling out all the stops with a cinematic flair! Circle November 5th on your calendar and prepare for an awe-inspiring ‘Night at the Movies’ themed fireworks spectacle at the iconic St Helen’s Ground!
Swansea Council Fireworks: A Night to Remember
Remember the fun on Swansea Beach? Well, this iconic Swansea Council Fireworks event is changing venues again! The council is taking it back to the good ol’ St Helen’s Ground and yes, it’s also going back to being a ticketed event as well.
Lights, Camera, Action!
Gates swing open at 5pm, and what better way to make an entrance than to a movie-themed serenade from the Penclawdd Brass Band? The pre-show kicks off at 5.30pm, featuring glow entertainers, walkabout acts, and performances that’ll make you feel like you’re on a Hollywood set.
A Star-Studded Cast
The kids will be starstruck! Expect surprise visits from Barbie, Spider-Man, Batman with his Batmobile, Wonder Woman, and even Star Wars faves like Boba Fett and Darth Vader. And shhh… we’ve heard that some dinosaurs from Jurassic Park might also roam around.
Fireworks and Film Scores
At 7pm, the main event lights up the Swansea sky. Imagine fireworks choreographed to your favourite movie tunes! It’s going to be, in a word, epic.
Munch and Crunch
You won’t go hungry; there’ll be plenty of food and drink vendors on-site. So yes, you can totally have that cinematic experience with popcorn and soda.
Grab Your Tickets
You can swipe them in advance for a neat discount. Adults are £4, kids and concessions are £3, and families can get in for just £10! If you wait till the day of, and prices go up a tad to Adults £5, kids and concessions £4 and family tickets will be £15. Buying your tickets is a breeze—just head to the Swansea Council website.
Road Closure Info Made Easy
There are going to be road closures so that everyone can enjoy the ‘Night at the Movies’ without a hitch. Closures will be kept to a bare minimum with some roads will be temporarily closed between 4pm and 9pm. Traffic’s expected to be bustling, so do factor in some extra travel time.
The Basic Closures
Gorse Lane: Redirect your ride via Mumbles Road, Guildhall Road South, Francis Street, and King Edward Road. Yep, this route works both ways!
Bryn Road: If you’re between Osborne Terrace and King Edward Road, opt for Osborne Terrace, Brynmill Avenue, St Albans Road, Finsbury Terrace, Marlborough Road, and Rhyddings Park Road as your alternative path.
King Edward Road: Closures are between Rhyddings Park Road and Gorse Lane.
Finsbury Terrace: The stretch between Bryn Road and Brynmill Crescent will be closed.
And heads up! Entry to Brynmill Crescent, Pantycelyn Road, Taliesyn Road, and Ceiriog Road is for emergency services and local residents only.
Quick 30-min Closure
From 7:15pm to 7:45pm, Mumbles Road will be shut between Brynmill Lane and Guildhall Road South (going both East and West) to help everyone leave smoothly.
Parking Notices
Avoid parking along Oystermouth Road between St Helens Road and Argyle Street from 5:30pm to 8:30pm unless you fancy your car being towed!

It’s a ‘pay-on-arrival’ kind of deal, so bring some cash or your card.

Swing by Victoria Park for dedicated disabled parking spaces. You can access this via the entrance on Francis Street.
