Are you ready to walk on the wild side this February Half Term? Wildlife Week at Picton Castle and Gardens in Pembrokeshire offers the perfect family day out for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. This special event is a celebration of the natural beauty and diverse wildlife that calls the castle gardens home, providing a unique opportunity to explore and learn in a stunning setting.

Throughout Wildlife Week, visitors can immerse themselves in a variety of activities designed to delight and educate. From wandering the enchanting trails in Peep-In Wood to joining wildlife walks led by conservation and heritage staff, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The castle’s grounds become a living classroom, where the wonders of nature are on full display.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there! The Welsh Owl Garden will host flying displays and otter talks, offering close encounters with some of the area’s most fascinating creatures. It’s a chance to see wildlife in action and gain insights into their lives. Moreover, every child will receive a gift of wildflower seeds, encouraging them to bring a piece of the wildlife experience back home to grow.

When it’s time for a break, Maria’s restaurant will be open from 10 am until 4 pm, serving up delicious cakes and lunches. It’s the perfect spot to refuel and relax amidst the day’s adventures.

And remember, while exploring the vast gardens, dogs on leads are welcome, allowing the whole family, furry members included, to enjoy the day out. However, do note that the Welsh Owl Garden and Zoo and the castle interior have a no-dogs policy.
