Join our Community Archaeologist on a very gentle paced family friendly walk as she reveals clues that shed light on the way of life of the ancient inhabitants of North Pembrokeshire.
On this walk you will learn about the turbulent history of one of the oldest stone castles in Wales before venturing down to a mysterious cross hewn into the cliff edge. Finally, visit Nevern Church with its Celtic Cross, Ogham inscribed stones and of course the famous Bleeding Yews. This is a very gentle paced family friendly walk which is either downhill or flat. The terrain inside the castle is uneven and there are some slopes going up to the motte and the ramparts. There is a picnic area with seating for those who do not wish to go up these areas. There will be a short minibus ride to and from Castell Henllys car park to the walk.
This is an Easy Walk for anyone of a reasonable fitness level who doesn't have a mobility difficulty. Suitable for pushchairs if they can be lifted over occasional obstructions. Comfortable shoes or trainers can be worn. Paths are clearly identifiable on the ground.
