Swansea Christmas Lights Switch On

Swansea Christmas Lights Switch On

Start Date: 17-11-2019
End Date: 17-11-2019

The countdown to Christmas officially starts in Swansea city centre with an extravaganza of colour, music, dancing and the famous Christmas Lights Switch On all under the gaze of Santa himself.

This year at the Swansea Christmas Light Switch On you and your family can enjoy marching bands, magical floats, festive film characters, Christmas inflatables and of course Santa on his sleigh

Belle and the Beast, light-up reindeers and winter wonderland magical giant birds will be joining a cast of hundreds for this year’s city centre Christmas Parade.

There will be a princess carriage and characters from the much-loved musical Frozen. As well as the return of Spark. A street theatre show from the 2017 parade which will be combining a high-impact drumming routine with kaleidoscopic lighting design.

There will be giant light-up reindeers that seem to float in the air and magical Winter Wonderland Birds, whose moods change with the lights and music.

Also, this year hundreds of our young people from communities around Swansea will be helping to spread the festive spirit to all the onlookers.  Some of the involved include:

  • Melin Theatre Arts,
  • Swansea Dance Twerk Team,
  • Acting Up Theatre Company/Maria Evans Academy,
  • Company J
