This October Half Term you can enjoy a jam-packed weekend of fun, learning and activity at the Swansea Science Festival Family Weekend.

There will be seven different zones, where you’ll be able to take part in over 40 exhibits and hundreds of activities, learning all about the world of science!

Suitable for the whole family, this free festival gives science a hands on approach with plenty of activities to get involved in. Craft spells and defend yourself against Dementors in our Harry Potter experience room; meet Ronnie, the baby T-Rex with Ranger Chris in our Dino workshop; or learn about fire eating in our Circus Strongwomen show.

Bookable Workshops

There are a range of workshops that are bookable each day such as:

On Saturday

  • Magic, medicine and mythology : Experience Room at 11am until 12.30pm and 2pm until 3.30pm
  • Science Made Simple presents Bubbles and Balloons at 11am until 12pm
  • Becoming Dr Jones at 1pm until 2pm
  • Be inspired - An art workshop with a difference at 10am until 11am, 11.15am until 12.15pm, 1.30pm until 2.30pm and 3pm until 4pm
  • Science Made Simple - Exploding Water Show at 3pm until 4pm

On Sunday

  • Dino Workshop at 11am until 12pm and 12,30pm until 1.30pm
  • Strong Women Science at 11.30am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 2.30pm
  • Fast fashion, high cost: how much are our clothes really worth at 2.30pm until 4pm
  • Mark Thompson’s Spectacular Science Show at 3pm until 4pm
  • Time – what a concept at 3.30pm until 4.30pm
  • Illustrate your dreams: Live at 10am until 1pm

Interactive Exhibitions

The 7 zones allow you to explore science with fun things to do and get involved in; from bashing a banana, to LEGO robots. The Zones are:
