Ferryside Beach

Your Family will love spending time at Ferryside Beach in Carmarthenshire, it is the perfect FREE fun Family Day out

Ferryside Beach is a lovely sand beach on the Wales Coast Path, to access the beach you walk over the railway crossing.

It’s a fab beach for building sandcastles, paddling and picnics but it’s not the safest of beaches for swimming as the currents from the two river estuaries make swimming quite dangerous here.

Also, the beach backs up to a wall and then straight onto the railway line, so definitely not a place you want to take your eyes of your little ones if they have a tendency to wander off!

In the village of Ferryside you will find toilets, shops and pubs all close to the beach as well as a 32 space free council owned car park.

In 2018, Ferryside also relaunched the ferry service for the first time in 70 years, offering Sailings between Ferryside and Llansteffan. These 30-minute boat trips gives a great chance to see all the local wildlife including herons, cormorants, otters and even the odd grey Atlantic seal!

There is no lifeguard service on this beach and Dogs are allowed here all year round and there are lovely views of Llanstephan castle on the opposite side of the river.
