Witford Sands, Baglan Bay is also known as Jersey Marine Beach East, as it sits on the east side of the mouth of the river Neath. It is a sandy beach which is fab for finding awesome shells on.
This is beach is probably more popular with dog walkers than families as the views are quite industrial, however the beach is backed by a large area of sand dunes of the Crymlyn Burrows nature reserve, which is home to a wide variety of plant species and well worth exploring in the summer months. The tide can go out over a mile here and there is a hazard of mud patches and strong currents in the estuary.
There is no lifeguard patrol on this section of the beach and dogs are allowed on here all year round
