Priory Bay
Priory Bay, on Caldey Island is in Pembrokeshire and is a beach you may not think of to visit with your family for a Fun Day out.
Priory Bay is a good size sandy beach set on Caldey island which is a mile off the coast of Tenby. Caldey Island is owned by Cistercian monks and is home to a grand monastery. The only way to reach the island is by taking the 20-minute boat ride which leaves from Tenby’s Castle Beach because private boat landings are not allowed.
The beach is quite safe for swimming and has toilets and café in the nearby village. The boat service to Priory Bay runs on weekdays from Easter until October, and Saturdays as well from May to September. Dogs are allowed on the island but must be on lead at all time.
