Swansea Bay is a sand beach with patches of mud and stones. Swansea Bay stretches from the mouth of River Tawe to Mumbles and there is a promenade, cycle path and the Mumbles Road run that is behind the beach for its entire length.
At the southern end of Swansea Bay is Knabs Rock which lies adjacent to the village of Mumbles. The beach here is a mix of sand and shingle and is backed by a sea wall, alongside a car park and marina.
The car park here is popular with sea anglers who cast their lines over the railings above the sea wall. There is a purpose built watersports facility here and a tourist information point, toilets, changing facilities, shop and cafe. Fun activities take place here like Jet Skiing, Sailing, Water Skiing and of course Fishing
