Swansea Bay is a sand beach with patches of mud and stones. Swansea Bay stretches from the mouth of River Tawe to Mumbles and there is a promenade, cycle path and the Mumbles Road run that is behind the beach for its entire length.
Swansea Bay at Mumbles Head is a mix of sand and rocks, there is no lifeguard service here and there are restrictions on when dogs are allowed on the beach its usually from Easter until the end of Summer when they are not allowed.
There are toilets here, cafes, shops and pub nearby
