Swansea Bay is a sand beach with patches of mud and stones. Swansea Bay stretches from the mouth of River Tawe to Mumbles and there is a promenade, cycle path and the Mumbles Road run that is behind the beach for its entire length.
This section of Swansea Bay at the County Hall, near Maritime Quarter is mostly sand. There is no lifeguard patrol on this section of beach and dogs are allowed on here all year round
