Your Family love the Three Cliffs Bay in Swansea, it is the perfect FREE Family Day Out
Three Cliffs Bay is by far one of the Gower’s most photographed locations. It has a wide sandy beach with sloping dunes to the rear. The Three Cliff is easily recognised by the limestone headland to the east with its iconic three summits.
It is worth remembering that during high tides there are often strong rip currents making it a dangerous spot for bathing. There is a seasonal lifeguard service here and it is really only advisable to enter the water during this period. Not to worry though as this beach is the most perfect place for a picnic, so it’s not all about the swimming here.
Three Cliffs Bay also forms part of a wider bay which includes Oxwich Bay and at low tide the beaches join up to form a great expanse of sand.
It is a bit tricky to get to this beach as it involves covering some rough terrain. The most direct route includes heading over the sand dunes, but a flatter route is available through the valley bottom from Parkmill. However, during high tide the river (Pennard Pill) may not be crossable here meaning you’ll have to climb back over the dunes.
