Newcastle Emlyn Castle
There are not much remains of Newcastle Emlyn Castle left, after it was blown up with gunpowder in 1645 during the English Civil war. However what ruins are there are still a fab little glimpse into our Welsh History.
There is a good history information board that you can read in the car park and you can enjoy a little walk around the grounds and down by the river, its in a circle route so always something new for the little ones to see as you go around and not too long, perfect walk with the family dog.
In the better weather this is a lovely little location for a family picnic and the kids can learn about how story says the last dragon in Wales landed on the wall of the castle in the summer of 1825!
