What You Will Need to Make an Easter Hook the Duck Garden Game
- Easter themed rubber ducks
- Mini hooks
- Twig long enough to use as stick
- Large Flexi Tub
- Sharpie pen
We found one of the easiest and cheapest places to get our Flexi Tub from, was from B & Q for £5.89 as well as the mini hooks for £1.70
The twig we picked up from our back garden and the Easter themed rubber ducks we found on Amazon for few pounds as well as the Sharpie pen from Amazon for £2
How to Make an Easter Hook the Duck Garden Game
It is actually super easy for you to make this Easter hook the duck garden game so much so that the kids can easily help make it.
The kids might need some grown up help to screw the hooks into the ducks as it can be a bit tricky.
You will also need to screen one of the hooks onto the end of your stick as well
The kids can then write the numbers using the sharpie on the bottom of the ducks, simply 1 up to how ever many rubber ducks you have decided to get.
Finally pop the flexi tub in the garden and let the kids fill it with water, we found it easiest for them to use the garden hose. Just fill it up to the depth you it to be filled to
How to Play the Easter Hook the Duck Garden Game
Easter Hook the Duck is played just the same as any other hook the duck game in that you place all the ducks into the Flexi Tub so you can’t see the number on the bottom of them. Then each player takes it in turn to try and hook a duck of their chosen out the tub.
For younger kids you can keep it simple and say they have to hook a duck with an even number on it. But for older kids you can switch it up by telling them to try get 2 ducks that numbers add up to say 15 or what every number you pick. Or similarly you could plenty different math sums with adding, subtraction or multiplying with any two ducks, its all about adapting it to your child’s ability. Of course you can also have prizes to hand out as well.
