Where to Pick your Own Pumpkins in West Wales

Do you Fancy Making it a Real Family Outing and Picking your own Pumpkins this year for Halloween? Well we have put together a Handy Guide to Where you can go around West Wales in 2023

Make some awesome Memories and add more Family fun to this year’s Halloween by Picking your own Pumpkins with the family. We all know just how much fun we can have carving your own family pumpkin so why not add a like more magic to it this year and take the kids to the farm to pick their own.



Pembrokeshire Pumpkins


This year you can take the family along to explore an area of the Pumpkin Farm near Newport in Pembrokeshire where the kids can pick their perfect pumpkin in the patch in the flower meadow as well as play at the woodland play area, take on the creepy walk, visit the haunted barn, explore the spooky hay bale trail and there’s even disc golf for the energetic.

The Pumpkin patch will be full of pumpkins of all different sizes, colours and shapes. It will open every weekend from 10.30am until 5.30pm starting from Saturday 30th Sept and through October also extra weekdays 25th October to 30th.

You will need to book your tickets in advance which is £8.00 + £1.38 booking fee for Family Admission, which is 1 car per family. Additionally, you will need to pay for the pumpkins you pick which price ranges depending on the size you pick and start from £2.50.

Penyfodau Fawr Farm Shop

Penyfodau Fawr Farm Shop Pumpkin Patch

Penyfodau Fawr Farm will be doing their Pick your Own Pumpkin Patch again in 2023. They will be open from 9am until 5.30pm every day from Saturday 7th until Monday 31st October (unless they sell out before 31st). There is no need to advance book, just turn up, but all children must be accompanied by an adult at all times as this is a working farm.

Entry to the field and parking is Free, you simply pay for the pumpkins you pick with prices of pumpkins starting from £1.

Wheelbarrows are available free of charge to help you carry your pumpkins back from the field if needed. Depending on the weather the field is pram friendly, although baby carriers would be a better option. The field is not suitable for wheelchairs but a selection of pumpkins with will be available in the shop and on the yard if you are unable to access the field.

Good Hook Pumpkin Patch


A family run Dairy Farm that branched out over lockdown to growing pumpkins, which has worked lovely, and they have opened their doors to visitors again this year, well behaved dogs are welcome too.

Open every day from October 7th until 31st from 9am until 5pm, There is no need to pre book. Entry and parking is all free, simply turn up and pick your perfect pumpkin, with prices of pumpkins starting from 50p. There will also be hot drinks, cakes and snacks on sale.

Take your family to Pick one of Greenacre’s own home-grown Pumpkins of all sizes from their Pumpkin Patch this year, you can be sure no two are the same!

Spooky Shenanigans will be going on with little one’s welcome to come dressed up and trying to choose your pumpkin when Glinda the witch is not looking! You can expect a nice selection of pumpkins, hot food served all day including everyone’s favourite crepes, spooky spider trail, lots of photo opportunities, fire pit for marshmallows and lots more to create great memories.

You will need to purchase a ticket in advance. Everyone 3 years and over will need a ticket, under 3 years are free. Price of the ticket includes booking fee, entrance fee and spending tokens worth £3. Tokens are redeemable against purchases of pumpkins or refreshments, shop goods and any attractions on site. If you are visiting at night-time remember to bring a torch!

The Pumpkin Patch this year will be open every day from 7th to 31st October (While stocks last) Times open will range between 10am and 6.30pm each day and for exact details per day you can see this information when booking. You can pre-book online via their website link below

The Black Cat Pumpkin Patch


This pumpkin patch is a local Carmarthenshire farm is opening again this year, with a unique pick your own pumpkin experience that families will enjoy.

This year we will be offering more additions to our unique pick your own pumpkin experience, including animals, our trick or treat tunnel, a hot food stall, maize maze and many more.

Open on Friday 13th, Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th October then every day Tuesday, Thursday to Sunday until 30th from 10am until 5pm each day.

You will need to pre book your parking space and there is a charge of £5 per parking space and this ticket includes entry to the pumpkin patch, the new corn maze and other spooky surprises. You can pre-book online via their website link below

Gower Fresh Christmas Trees

Gower Fresh Christmas Trees Pumpkin Patch

The Gower Fresh Christmas Trees started their Pick Your Own Pumpkin event In 2018 and it will once again be on this year. Families can embark on a thrilling adventure with our Pick Your Own Pumpkins activity. Choose from a wide selection of pumpkins in various shapes and sizes.

This year, they’ve extended opening hours to include flood-lit evening picking sessions, adding an extra element of excitement to your pumpkin-picking experience.

Pick Your Own Pumpkins is Free Entry, and you pay for the size pumpkin you pick from 4th until 27th October, then 28th to 31st you’ll also need Site Access ticket.

The Site Access Pass is £5 and covers either one car or four pedestrians and grants entry to both Pumpkin Picking and Roly Poly’s Ghostbusters Party in our charming barn setting.

During the week of October Half Term School Holidays, they will also be hosting Halloween themed activities for the kids so keep your eye out for more info about them over on our What’s On Page.

LATEST NEWS Windsor Farm Pembrokeshire Pumpkin Patch

The Pumpkin Patch at Windsor Farm near Pembroke, will be open for its fifth year in 2023. They have a large selection of Pumpkins all undercover in their Pumpkin Patch, so no matter the weather you will be able to find your perfect pumpkin for Halloween and kids will be able to enjoy the Fun Farm Barn.

There will be signs out from Lamphey village up to the farm and the patch will be open on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October from 10am until 4pm. Then they will be open every weekend in October from 10am until 4pm.

No booking is required, and it is free to enter, you simply pay for the pumpkins you pick. Also, visitors can enjoy a one-way system for cars and free parking.

Heatherton Giant Pumpkin Patch

Enjoy an amazing day out at Heatherton World of Activities and let the Kids Pick their Own Pumpkin at their Pumpkin Patch.

Heatherton’s green fingered team have been lovingly cultivating their very own giant pumpkin patch where families can come along and choose their very own pumpkin to take home.

Entry to the pumpkin patch is £1 per person for 2 years and over and this includes entry and photo opportunity in the pumpkin patch, advance booking your slot is a must. The prices of the pumpkins themselves will be Small pumpkins £4, Medium pumpkins £6, Large pumpkins £8 and Extra Large Pumpkins £10

Tenby’s Pumpkin Patch


After the success of previous years Tenby Pumpkin Patch is back again for Halloween 2023. Kids can have fun picking their own pumpkins from the field and display in the barn, with a variety of sizes, colours and shapes to pick from and they might the lucky enough to see some pigs and sheep..

There is no need to pre book and entry and parking is all fee, simply turn up and pick your perfect pumpkin from their Halloween themed barn, just remember to wear suitable footwear.

Tenby Pumpkin Patch will be open from Friday 13th October from 5.30pm and then every weekend throughout October from 10am until 7pm on Saturday and 10am until 5pm on Sunday.

Pwmpenni Plas Pumpkins


Plas Farm is a working family dairy farm whose children have decided to grow some pumpkins that are free from any sprays, fertilisers and pesticide treatments.

No entry fee but we kindly ask for a £2 voluntary donation per car to our chosen charity this year is Uned Myrddin the Special Children’s Unit in Carmarthen.

There is no need to pre-book, simply turn up and pick your perfect pumpkin, boots or wellies are advised if you want to pick your own from the field as its rather muddy, although pre picked are available also.

Toilets available for all and tea and coffee will also be available, with cash and card payments taken.

We are open on weekends Saturday and Sunday only. We will be open every weekend throughout October also Monday 30th October and Tuesday 31st from 10.30am until 4pm.
