What's On      Places To Go      Local Life

Black Mountain Centre

The Black Mountain Community Centre in Ammanford is a one-stop shop for the residents of Brynaman and the surrounding area.

The Centre provides educational classes and courses, a part-time library, doctor’s surgery, police surgery, outreach services, Credit Union, as well as IT facilities and access to the Internet.

The Black Mountain Centre is the home of the Treftadaeth Brynaman Heritage group, who are a well-established group based in the library of The Black Mountain Centre. The group are very enthusiastic and have already undertaken a number of local history projects, the results of which are proudly displayed at the Community Centre. The members are interested in every aspect of the village’s history and development and are very busy collating information, be it oral, pictorial or written. These resources are used to create exhibitions, such as Industry, Rugby or 100 years of Weddings in Brynaman.
