The Dolaucothi Goldmines are unique gold mines that are set amid wooded hillsides overlooking the beautiful Cothi Valley and were in use from Roman times to the 20th century
The 1930’s Mine Yard contains buildings and mining machinery, dating from that time and guided tours take you back to experience the conditions underground in the Roman and Victorian workings
You can also have a go at gold panning and experience the frustrations of searching for real gold!
