Dylan Thomas Birth Place

Dylan was born in the front bedroom of this house in 1914 and continued to live here at Number 5 Cwmdonkin Drive in Swansea, until his parents moved out in 1937

Dylan’s birthplace has now been fully restored to its condition in 1914 when it was bought as a new house by the Thomas family. This is a great opportunity for any Dylan Thomas enthusiast, to visit Dylan’s birthplace and childhood home at 5 Cwmdonkin Drive in the Uplands suburb of Swansea.

This house played a huge part in shaping the style and output of Dylan Thomas, and we guarantee that there will be something that you will see or touch that will provide memories for a long time to come.

You can visit Dylan Thomas’s Birth Place, enjoy a guided tour, or eat dinner here or even stay overnight!
