The Storyline of Finding Floss the Colour Changing Cockapoo

Finding Floss is a playful story of an adorable fluffy cockapoo that has a magical ability to change colour into the colour of its surroundings.

Floss is the ideal pet for this happy blended mixed race family, getting up to no good changing colour to tease the neighbours cats or to sneak in and have fun at the funfair.

Luckily when things go wrong at the funfair and the little girl cant find her family, Floss who has been unknowingly playing under a colourful disguise with the little girl, manages to push her and her scooter to safety, so she can be reunite with her family.

The Illustrations in Finding Floss the Colour Changing Cockapoo

The Finding Floss the Colour Changing Cockapoo children’s book is illustrated by Mirna Imamović, a freelance illustrator living in Bosnia. Mirna loves long walks and exploring nature but above all loves the safe, cosy magical space of her studio in Sarajevo.

Each page of this book is filled with vibrant images, full of colour on every page turn. We think the illustrations visually really help to tell the story. The kids thought that the pictures were pretty and fun, but interestingly they did notice how on the pictures on the pages where the little girl gets lost also start to lose their colour too.

Some of the pages the kids specifically talked about includes when the family were enjoying a picnic and Floss became rainbow coloured to vanish against the rainbow and then a checker pink colour to disappear again the picnic blanket pattern.

Also the image of when Floss becomes part of the coconut shy game and cheekily helped push over the coconuts and enjoys jumping high on the bouncy castle without being seen against the multi coloured castle.

Plus when Floss helps reunite the girl with her family and Floss is the same colour as the stand but surrounded by pretty hearts and stars, its a very cute happy image.

Would we Recommend Finding Floss the Colour Changing Cockapoo

All the kids loved this book, so bright, colourful and upbeat, it was a real joy to read with the kids. It was a great conversation started, getting the kids with pets thinking about what their life would be like if their own pet at home changed colour too. We love books that get kids thinking and talking, it makes their imagination grow.

We also love how it includes advice on what children should do if they get lost them self and how they can stay safe when out and about with their family.

We think this is such a bright positive read for the kids and would totally recommend this book to families, if you wish to check it out, and add it to your little one’s book collection you can get it at WHSmith or Amazon.
