REVIEW: Totem Infernal Power Game

We are a huge lover of Family Board Games, especially ones that challenge the adults as much as it does the children, and the new game Totem Infernal Power Game is one that definitely does that. Do not be mistaken by the simplistic look of this game as you will need skill, patience, and a real hunger to beat your competitors to take on this challenging game.

Totem Infernal Power Game is the new game to be launched into the UK family board game market in 2021 and we have been lucky enough to have been sent one for our families to review in return for us sharing our honest thoughts with our readers.

What’s Inside the Box

Inside the Totem Infernal Power Game box, you will find:

  • A Spinner Launcher
  • 5 Different Size Light Up Spinning Tops

You will need 2 x AAA batteries to play this game which do not come with the game.

How to Play Totem Infernal Power Game

The Overall Objective

The objective of the game is to be the first to stack all of the spinners in size order to build your Totem Tower and see who can have their whole totem light up and spin for the longest time.

Playing Totem Inferno Game

You get 5 different size spinning tops ranging from large to small ones. Each spinner has a metal tip to spin them on, which cleverly when placed on top of the one below makes them light up using the different coloured LEDs inside them.

Spinner Light 2

You get a launcher that you must press the top button down on, then push your spinner into and turn, so you are in essence winding the spinner up. Once you cannot turn it anymore you then launch the spinner by pressing the button again on the top.

Spinner Launcher 2

Start with the largest spinner, then the next largest and so on.

The tricky part is to get each spinner to balance onto of the one below. You will need to be precise and skilful as you release each spinner onto the next, yet still be quick as if you leave it too long then they will all lose their speed and stop spinning but go to fast you will topple the tower and have to start again.

Spinning 1 2

Take it in turn to see who can build the tallest tower and if you all get all five spinners onto your tower, start timing to see who’s spins for the longest.

Where to Buy Totem Infernal Power Game

This Challenging Spinning Game is on sale for £9.99 from Smyths Toys, Argos or Amazon and they are aimed at children aged 7 years and older.

Would we Recommend Totem Infernal Power Game to Your Family?

First off, we have to say prepare yourself to not get any instructions with this game and whilst in the most the game is very self-explanatory so we can understand this, we still struggled a bit trying to work out how to use the launcher, probably just an “Us Issue” as Dad’s worked it out straight away lol!

Frustrating is for sure a thing you will need to overcome with this game along with the acceptance of it being your new addiction as you just want to keep trying to beat the tower!

Spinning 2 2

We loved this game, and it is up there as one of the ones that keep getting played in our house. It is one of those games that all members of the family enjoyed from the little kids to adults and its one that makes everyone equal, so kids feel like they really do have the chance to beat the parents.

We would have no problem in recommending this to any family looking for a fun board game to add to their collection as it was a real winner with us, nice and robust pieces and it’s not too expensive as well…. Oh and Top Tip if you want to really Push this Challenging Game to the Limits, why not try it Blindfolded!
