If you think that your Family has what it takes to Create Wales’ Greatest Scarecrow, then you should take part in the First Ever National Scarecrow Competition “Battle of the Bwgan Brain” being organised by Mentrau Iaith Cymru
Local small Scarecrow competitions do often take place across Wales, however this year they have had to be cancelled or postponed and its because of this that Mentrau Iaith Cymru has decided to launch their National Competition for the whole of Wales to enjoy.
Mentrau are hoping that by holding this competition and encourage people across Wales to create scarecrows (Bwgan Brain in Welsh it will raise spirits and bring communities across Wales together to compete to find Wales’ Best Bwgan Brain and the 2020 Bwgan Brain champion.
How To Enter Battle of Bwgan Brain 2020 Competition
To enter Battle of Bwgan Brain 2020 Competition all you need to do is create a scarecrow on the theme ‘Wales’.
Competitors are encouraged to reuse and recycle what they already have in their houses or sheds and be as creative as possible.
You will need to place your scarecrow in a safe and suitable position and send a picture of your masterpiece to your local Menter Iaith by Monday, 3rd August.
You should also share your photos on social media using the hashtag #bwganbrain.
The winner of each area will go on to the national round to compete for the special Brwydr y Bwgan Brain 2020 prize, which is a unique and colourful painting by the artist Rhys Padarn Jones.
When will the Winner be Announced
The well known and popular radio and television presenter Ifan Jones Evans will be tasked with judging the national round and Mentrau Iaith Cymru will announce the national winner on Monday, 17th August 2020.
