Carmarthenshire Council Annual Toybox Appeal is Underway

It’s that time of the year again, when Carmarthenshire County Council ask for the generosity of local residents to help put a smile on someone’s face this Christmas, by kindly donating to their Annual Toybox Appeal
The annual Toybox appeal is underway and will be accepting donations up until December 1st 2019 although the earlier they can receive items the better to make it easier to sort ready to be given out.
The Toybox Appeal asks for warm-hearted Carmarthenshire residents who are able to give a little extra this Christmas to kindly donate items which will be gifted to local children in need. Local residents county-wide are being urged to help by donating presents for all ages, babies from 18 months up to teenagers.
The donated gifts will be given to local families who, for a number of reasons are unable to give their children the Christmas the rest of us perhaps take for granted. It is schools, family centres, social workers and youth workers who identify those who are in greatest need of support.
If you can donate any items, it would be fab it you could leave gifts unwrapped as this will make it easier for the Council staff and volunteers to sort out, wrap and deliver toys and hampers in the run-up to Christmas.
Cllr Mair Stephens said the Toybox and Christmas gift appeal was growing in strength year by year. “The amazing number of donations we receive over the busy festive period yearly is down to our generous resident’s county wide, with donations ideal for new-borns to teenagers we can’t be thankful enough.
During a time of giving and receiving I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the businesses involved for their generosity and support, in particular Nolan, which has allowed the appeal to be hosted at their premises in Johnstown.”
