Changes to Bin Collections this Christmas and New Year in Pembrokeshire

Here’s a little reminder to if there will be some changes to bin collections dates for residents in Pembrokeshire over the Christmas and New Year period

The all-important dates for when your food, recycling and grey rubbish bags will be picked up over the Christmas and New Year’s period in Pembrokeshire.

A lot more rubbish tends to be produced at this time of the year, so people are being urged to try and recycle as much as possible.

Blue Reusable Sack should be used to recycle all your Cardboard and Card including delivery boxes and brown packaging paper and Christmas cards without glitter, foil embossing or any other embossing on them (no bows, ribbons etc).

Blue Box should be used to recycle all your Paper including newspapers and magazines, leaflets, envelopes and paper based wrapping paper (glitter or foil based paper is not recyclable and should be placed in your grey residual bags).

Red Reusable Sack should be used for all your Plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays (excluding black and brown plastic pots, tubs and trays), food and beverage cartons and metal packaging including cans, tins, empty aerosols, foil and foil trays. Your plastic sweet/ chocolate tubs and metal biscuit tins are also recyclable through the red bag.

Green Caddy is for all your Food Waste and  Green Box  for all your Glass Bottles and Jars

To help with the extra residual waste, properties can present one extra bag at the kerbside on your first collection for ‘non-recyclable’ waste after Christmas. The bag does not need to be a PCC grey bag, but can be any residual bag provided by the household (Please do not use PCC recycling bags i.e. AHP purple bags or orange recycling bags).

Christmas and New Year Bin Collections for 2021/22 will take place as follows:

There are also changes to recycling centre opening times over the Christmas period.

All recycling sites will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Don’t forget you must have booked a slot before you visit
