Click and Collect Service Available in West Wales Libraries

As all our Libraries across West Wales remain closed a new click and collect style service has just started so we can start getting books again. This service is only available at certain libraries, so keep reading for more info.
The introduction of this new Click and Collect style service is the first phase of restarting the library service across West Wales, find all the info you will need to know for your area below.
Neath Port Talbot Libraries
From Monday 22nd June, Neath Port Talbot three main libraries Neath, Pontardawe and Port Talbot will be running a restricted Call and Collect service allowing users to order and pick up books as well as audio books.
You will need to call to place your order and you will be given a timeslot to collect your books and the service opening hours are, Monday to Friday 10am until 12.30pm and 1.30pm until 4pm, Saturday 10am until 12:30pm

All items borrowed from the libraries will have been quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours and will be safe to use.
If anyone is currently shielding and can’t get to any library they can call library HQ on 01639 899829 or email [email protected] for further information on home delivery.
Swansea Libraries
As all the library buildings remain closed you will not be able to enter any of the libraries but the main four libraries in Swansea are now offering a Phone and Pick Up service for people who want to borrow books.
You will need to call the library you want to pick your books up from to place your order. You can call on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 9.30am and 4.30pm
The four libraries taking part in this service are Swansea Central, Gorseinon, Morriston and Oystermouth.

When you place your order you will be given a time slot to pick them up on.
To place your order you will need your library card number and telephone number. As well as the books you wish to order, this can either be your favourite authors/genres or you can pick a few specific book titles from the online catalogue here

If anyone is currently shielding or have mobility issues and can’t get to any library they can call the housebound service on 01792 636430 and they can delivery books to your door.
Carmarthenshire Libraries
As all the library buildings remain closed you will not be able to enter any of the libraries but the main three libraries in Carmarthenshire are now offering a click and collect service for people who want to borrow books.
To be able to use this service you will need to be a library member and log in to the online library here to reserve your books
Once your books have been reserved you will be emailed a link to book a 10 minute appointment to collect them from either Carmarthen, Ammanford or Llanelli library.
You will need to take either your membership card or photo id with you to collect your books and if you need a friend of family member to pick your books up for you then they just need to bring these with them for you.

If anyone is currently shielding or have mobility issues and can’t get to any library they can request the books be delivered to their home.
Pembrokeshire Libraries
From Thursday 2nd July, libraries in Fishguard, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock and Tenby will be accepting orders for the new service.

Fishguard Library and Tourist Information Centre
Milford Haven Library and Information Centre
Library members can select up to a maximum of six items, and can either ask for a pre-selected collection such as romance or thrillers, or select specific titles from the online catalogue that are located at the library they wish to collect from.
When placing an order, members can also specify their preferred format, such as Spoken Word, Large Print or items in the Welsh Language.

The Order and Collect service is also available for children, with Summer Reading Challenge packs for ages 4-11 available for collection later in July.
Ceredigion Libraries
From Monday 22nd June people will be able to use the click and collect service to order and collect items from Aberystwyth, Aberaeron, Cardigan and Lampeter libraries.
The click and collect service means you can order books online, or by calling the libraries, and then arrange a time to collect the items.
You will not be able to walk around the library to browse for books or use the public computers or print and photocopying services. Nor will the cash office be open. You will only be able to pick up pre ordered books.
You can requesting books by logging into your account online or you can email [email protected] or phone your local library.

The service will resume in New Quay Library and Llandysul Library in due course.
Once you have requested your books you will be given a 30 minute time slot to collect them and we will allocate only three people to each 30 minute slot.
This service operating hours will be Aberystwyth and Aberaeron libraries open Tuesday to Friday 10am until 12pm and 1pm until 4pm and Saturday 10am until 12pm. Cardigan and Lampeter libraries will be open Tuesday to Friday 10am until 1pm and 2pm until 4pm and Saturday 10am until 12pm
Only one person will be allowed inside the library at any one time. If more than one person arrives at the same time, we ask that you wait outside the building, observing social distancing.
It is planned for this click and collect service to last for at least three months however it will be reviewed regularly.
The mobile library service will also resume on 22nd June, however the service will focus on providing a service to our housebound customers only
