Llandeilo Festival of Senses – Christmas Lights Switch On

Looking for a charming way to kick off the festive season? The Llandeilo Festival of Senses returns from 15th – 17th November, transforming this picturesque Carmarthenshire town into a winter wonderland packed with family-friendly fun. Known for its bustling, bespoke shops and vibrant street entertainment, this annual festival is a beloved highlight of Llandeilo’s pre-Christmas celebrations. Whether it’s the anticipated Llandeilo Christmas Lights switch-on or the Santa Sleigh appearance, the festival offers activities that truly indulge all the senses.

The Llandeilo Festival of Senses offers free entry and runs throughout the weekend, with various exciting events spread across the town. From Friday evening’s lantern parade and the Llandeilo Christmas Lights switch-on to Sunday’s Santa Run, each day brings a unique line-up of activities and entertainment designed to delight visitors of all ages. King Street will be bustling with stalls and activities, including the Peppercorn Food Marquee and artisan crafts at the Civic Hall and Horeb Chapel.

Here’s a breakdown of the entertainment schedule to keep you on track with each day’s highlights:

Friday, 15th November

• 12noon – 8pm: Stalls open on King Street
• 5.30pm: Town Band on King Street Stage
• 6pm: Official opening by MP Ann Davies
• 6.15pm: Santa arrives on his sleigh from Ffairfach to Rhosmaen
• 6.25pm: Lantern procession from LBS to King Street
• 7.15pm: Christmas Lights switch-on by Mayor Charlotte Morgan
• 8pm: Laser Show
• 8.30pm: Dai Thomas performs

Saturday, 16 November

• 10am – 6pm: Stalls open on King Street
• 10am: Ffairfach School Choir
• 10.30am: Ysgol Cymraeg Teilo Sant
• 11am: Llandeilo CP performance
• 11.30am: Hospital Notes Choir (King Street) and Ysgol Cymraeg Teilo Sant (Davies & Co)
• 12noon: Sunflowers Dancers Wales
• 12.30pm: Lleisiau Lliw Ladies Choir from Pontarddulais
• 1pm: The Mix
• 1.30pm: Cor Meibion Dinefwr
• 2pm: Ben Edwards
• 3pm: Crazy Clayton
• 4pm: Peepsho
• 5pm: Tractor Run from LBS

Sunday, 17 November

• 10am – 4pm: Stalls open on King Street
• 10am: Santa Run
• 10am: Alan Thomas performs
• 11am: Lotus Sisters Belly Dance Company
• 11.30am: Cor Y Scarlets choir
• 12noon: Carmarthen and Llanelli Tenovus Sing with us Choirs

For added convenience there will be a Park & Ride service from Home Farm and Llandeilo Mart. The Park & Ride runs from 12.00pm – 8.00pm on Friday, 10.00am – 6.00pm on Saturday, and 10.00am – 4.00pm on Sunday.
