Llangennech Christmas Lights Switch On

Get ready to embrace the festive spirit at the Llangennech Christmas Lights Switch-On, a free family-friendly event packed with seasonal fun. Taking place on 14th December from 2pm to 6pm, this charming celebration is a highlight of the festive calendar, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

The festivities begin with a lively Christmas Craft Fair, where 15 stalls will be brimming with unique gifts and handmade treasures. Whether you’re hunting for last-minute presents or simply want to soak in the festive atmosphere, this is a delightful spot to start your day. Little ones will be entertained with a variety of activities, including a photo booth, face painting, table games, and a lucky dip. For a guaranteed smile, visit the soft toy counter, where every try is a winner, or indulge your sweet tooth at the candy floss and sweet stalls.

Adding to the festive cheer is musical entertainment provided by the Llanelli Wind Band, whose seasonal tunes are sure to get everyone humming along. Delicious refreshments will be on hand, courtesy of Nannies Kitchen, ensuring no one goes hungry during the festivities.

At 4pm, the highlight of the day begins with the village parade, which sets off from the Bryn Hall area. Winding its way down Hendre Road and Bridge Street, the parade arrives at Salem Square around 4.40pm. Santa himself will be on hand to switch on the Christmas tree lights, spreading festive magic across the village. After the grand switch-on, Santa heads back to his grotto at the Llangennech Community Centre, arriving around 5pm, where children can meet him and share their Christmas wishes.
