Open Doors at Bethel Baptist Chapel, Haverfordwest

This chapel dates from about 1839, and has a graveyard. There is an open air baptistery in a tributary of Pelcombe Brook and they are taking part in this year’s Open Doors Event.
In the chapel there will be a display of Lambston parish history, which has been compiled by a local historian. This is an exhibition about the history of the people, farms and land of the old parish of Lambston, near Haverfordwest. It should interest people curious about Pembrokeshire local history and geography as well as those with a connection to the parish.
The chapel lies to the north of the village of Sutton between the St Davids Road A487 and Haven Road B4341 from Haverfordwest. Leave the former at Pelcombe Cross or the latter at Portfield Gate.
The graveyard is on a slope, so some graves might be difficult to visit for the less fit. The baptistery is beside an overgrown stream.
