As part of the Open Doors this year St Andrew’s church will be open for visitors and will have short guides will be available for visitors to read in the church and take home.
This Grade II* listed church occupies a spectacular spot over looking the sea. This church is a modest but evocative late Georgian Anglican box with Gothic windows, and a completely intact, single chamber interior.
There is a painted and panelled pulpit and reading desk, and a complete set of box pews.
The current building is thought to be an early nineteenth century rebuilding of a medieval church although – other than the simple 12th century font – no traces of earlier fabric remain.
St Andrew’s can be hard to find. Take the A40 towards Fishguard/St Clears. Proceed to B4298. Take B4299. Turn right on to A478. Turn left until you reach a ‘Restricted Usage Road’ – the church is a little way down this.
Parking is very limited. The churchyard rises along a unmade track to the church door.
