As part of the Cadw Open Doors this year St Mary’s Church, Llanllwch will be offering visitors free entry to explore this weekend.
This grade II* listed church dates back to the 12th century, having been restored by John Vaughan of Derllys Court in 1712 and again in 1870 when a north aisle was added. The church has several beautiful stained glass windows dating from 1952 – 1974, including one by John Petts, and is situated in a beautifully kept churchyard.
Members of the congregation will be ready to welcome you to this historic and peaceful place of prayer. Tea and coffee will be available. Copies of the church registers will be on display for those interested in family history, together with displays relating to the life of the church today.
