Pontardawe Christmas Lights Switch On

Start Date: 1 December 2024
Start Time: 3:30 pm
Ticket Price: ££

Get ready for a festive evening full of sparkle, music, and family fun at the Pontardawe Christmas Lights Switch On. Taking place on Friday 1st December, this free event, hosted by Pontardawe Town Council, is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season with your loved ones.

The festivities begin at 4.30pm on Herbert Street, where the community comes together to enjoy an evening of Christmas cheer. The highlight of the event is, of course, the switching on of the Pontardawe Christmas Lights, which will transform the town into a glowing winter wonderland.

There’s plenty of entertainment to keep families delighted throughout the evening. The main stage at the bottom of Herbert Street will feature performances by the GCG Band and the Dramatic Academy of Performing Arts, bringing music and drama to the heart of the celebrations.

Children and adults alike will love the fancy dress competition, so be sure to don your most creative festive costumes for a chance to win! The entertainment doesn’t stop there, with music from Wild, Wicket and Oblivious Santa adding a lively beat to the occasion.

Santa will also be making a special appearance at his grotto in the Pontardawe Heritage Centre, providing a magical opportunity for little ones to share their Christmas wishes.

The event concludes with a spectacular fireworks display, lighting up the night sky and ensuring the evening ends with a bang.

This fun-filled, family-friendly event offers the perfect mix of festive entertainment, community spirit, and Christmas magic.
