Trefin’s Scarecrow Trail is set to take over the village this August with a fun, book-themed challenge that’s brilliant for families and kids of all ages. Nestled in the charming village of Trefin, this quirky event invites you to follow a fun trail, where creativity meets countryside charm. Using the Trefin Scarecrow Trail as your guide, you’ll explore the village by map, hunting down around 20 handmade scarecrows that’s all dressed up and inspired by characters from beloved books. It’s a brilliant way to get outdoors and ignite imaginations while celebrating summer together.
At just £2 to enter, it’s affordable fun with a warm community heart. There’s plenty to keep little eyes peeled and grown-ups guessing too. Each scarecrow is tied to a literary character, and you have to try name the book it’s from? Entry forms are available from Spar at Square & Compass and The Ship Inn Trefin, making it easy to join in. Once you’ve matched the characters to their stories, submit your form for a chance to win one of three fab prizes. Plus, everyone gets to vote for their favourite scarecrow, so there’s a real buzz of excitement as the results roll in.
More than just a trail, this event brings neighbours together and supports a great cause as a generous 80% of proceeds go directly to GTI, with the remaining 20% shared equally between two other charities. It’s a lovely way to give back while enjoying a bit of storytelling magic in one of Pembrokeshire’s most picturesque spots.
Whether you’re planning a staycation in the area or just passing through, we think the Trefin Scarecrow Trail is a great excuse to stretch your legs and share some smiles.
