If you’re looking for something fun, fresh and family-friendly to do this May bank holiday, Tunes on the Bay is the perfect pick. Held from 2nd to 4th May, this new beachside festival brings together brilliant live music, wellness sessions and laid-back vibes, all set right on the golden sands of Swansea Bay.

Tunes on the Bay is the first festival of its kind on Swansea Beach, located opposite the Secret Beach Bar with pedestrian access from the slip at SA2 0AY. It’s a three-day celebration of music and wellbeing, running daily from 12pm to 11pm (final entry at 7pm). With two music stages, a packed wellness programme, and something for all ages, it’s a great way for families to enjoy the outdoors and soak up the festival atmosphere.

Wellness at Tunes on the Bay

Each morning from 9am to 12pm, before the music begins, festival-goers can start the day with peaceful, rejuvenating wellness sessions designed to help everyone unwind. Great for parents looking for a little calm before the energy picks up, these sessions are ideal for adults and older teens who want to experience a more mindful side of festival life.

Friday 2nd May

  • 9.00am – 10.00am: Guided Morning Meditation & Sound Bath, Wild Swimming & Breathwork, Journaling by the Sea
  • 10.00am – 11.00am: Vinyasa Yoga Flow, Sand Art Therapy
  • 11.00am – 12.00pm: Unplugged Workshop – Finding Balance Beyond the Screen

Saturday 3rd May

  • 9.00am – 10.00am: Guided Morning Meditation & Sound Bath, Wild Swimming & Breathwork, Silent Disco Yoga
  • 10.00am – 11.00am: Tai Chi by the Sea
  • 11.00am – 12.00pm: Beach Fitness Class (fun and family-friendly), Slumber & Serenity – Managing Stress for Better Sleep

Sunday 4th May

  • 9.00am – 10.00am: Guided Morning Meditation & Sound Bath, Wild Swimming & Breathwork
  • 10.00am – 11.00am: Silent Disco Yoga, Journaling by the Sea
  • 11.00am – 12.00pm: Sand Therapy

 

Ticket prices start at £45 for adults, £35 for children and £70 for a family ticket, with VIP options from £35. While there’s no on-site parking, nearby options are available. The event is held directly on soft sand, so accessibility is limited, but disabled toilets will be available, and support may be offered on request.

With two stages, a packed schedule, sea breezes and street food, Tunes on the Bay is a brilliant way to enjoy music by the sea and kick off May with a bang. Don’t forget—no personal seating is allowed, but there’ll be plenty of spots to chill and soak it all in.
