What to Leave Santa on Christmas Eve?

What’s your family tradition for ‘What to Leave Santa on Christmas Eve’? From Mini Elf Doughnuts to special Santa juice, there are so many delightful options!
Leaving goodies for Santa and his reindeer to keep their energy up is a fabulous way to build excitement for everyone in the family. Each family has its own unique traditions for what they leave out. We find it fun to hear about different traditions, so we thought we’d share what our family will be leaving out this Christmas Eve.
For Rudolf and the other Reindeers

For Rudolph and his merry band of reindeers, we can’t forget the all-important carrot, complete with lush green leaves! Rudolph, with his shiny nose, is particularly fond of munching on those crispy greens. Why not add a playful touch by arranging the carrots in a star shape or a smiley face, giving the reindeers a bit of a giggle? And let’s sprinkle a little magic dust (edible glitter, perhaps?) around them for that extra sparkle. After all, our festive friends deserve a treat that’s as special as their Christmas Eve flight!
For Santa

For Santa, the star of the night, we prepare something extra special. A vegetarian mince pie, scrumptiously delicious and perfect for a midnight snack. But that’s not all – there’s also a cheeky little glass of beer, poured specially by Daddy each year. It’s become a bit of a family joke that Santa must have a soft spot for this particular brew, as there’s never a single drop left by morning! We even like to leave a little note beside it, teasing Santa about joining us for a festive toast. It’s our little way of adding some extra giggles and warmth to our Christmas Eve tradition.
For Santa’s Elves

For the hardworking Santa’s Elves, we have a special treat – mini doughnuts, perfect for tiny hands! These little delights are a way for Santa to say a big ‘thank you’ to his elves for their tireless toy-making efforts. We have fun making them too; it’s a family activity where even the littlest hands can help. We transform Cheerios and Weetos into these adorable doughnuts with a drizzle of melted chocolate. Then comes the best part – decorating them with a rainbow of hundreds and thousands! It’s like hosting a mini festive party right in our kitchen. We imagine the elves’ eyes lighting up with joy as Santa delivers these bite-sized thank you gifts straight from our home to theirs at the North Pole.
For Us to Hold onto Memories

For us, to cherish and hold onto those precious memories, crafting a thank-you card for Santa is an absolute must. It’s a special and important gesture, teaching the little ones about the value of gratitude, even to magical figures like Father Christmas! Each year, the front of the card becomes a canvas for creativity, adorned with the children’s hand or footprints. We transform these prints into all sorts of festive designs – maybe a jolly reindeer one year, a twinkling Christmas tree the next. It’s not just a card; it’s a precious keepsake, a snapshot of their growing years. We treasure each one, as they are tangible reminders of the wonderful Christmases we’ve shared as a family. There’s laughter, a bit of mess, and heaps of love as we all get involved, making sure each card is as unique and special as the Christmas it represents.
