Using and Testing the Mini Stationery Maker

We really love how the stationery maker itself is cleverly designed—it’s got just the right amount of storage to keep all the little bits and pieces tidy, so kids can spend more time crafting and less time hunting for lost bits! It features compartments for pencils, washi tape, and even a little pen-making station, which we thought was such a smart idea. Once everything was set up, it was time to start crafting!

Creating the Water Pens

One of the most exciting parts of this kit has to be the water pens. These aren’t just any pens—they’re fully customisable, letting kids add their own creative flair. We found the process super simple and fun. First, you unscrew the end of the pen and add a little water. Then, using the handy funnel (which, by the way, is a genius addition to stop any mess!), you pour in the beads, glitter, or mini charms.

Once that’s done, you just pop the top back on and finish it off with some pen charms or beads. It was so satisfying to see the decorations floating inside, and the best part is these pens are totally reusable—just empty them out and start all over again!

Decorating the Pencils

We were surprised by how much fun the kids had with the pencils. Initially, we thought they were just two basic pencils, but then we realised you could customise them with washi tape! The set comes with a washi tape holder, so you can stick the tape in place, wrap it around the pencil, and—boom—boring pencils instantly look way more exciting.

The kids actually got a bit carried away and started revamping some of their old stationery too, which we thought was a brilliant way to breathe new life into forgotten supplies.

Making the DIY Notebook

The mini notebook was another fun little project. It comes with a big clip that holds everything together, making it really easy to assemble. You just pop the cover and pages into the clip, snap it shut, and it’s ready to go! The kids had a great time filling it with doodles and stickers, and it was really nice to see them enjoying a bit of screen-free creativity.

Our Honest Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • So much to customise – There are loads of bits and pieces to keep kids entertained.
  • Reusable water pens – We love that you can redesign them over and over again.
  • Mess-free crafting – The clever design helps prevent spills and frustration.
  • Great for sparking imagination – The kids ended up customising even their older stationery!
  • Keeps things tidy – Everything has a place, which we really appreciate.

Cons:

  • Small parts – Some of the decorations are tiny, so younger kids might need help.
  • Could do with more stickers – One sheet doesn’t last long when you’re decorating everything!

We honestly think the Mini Stationery Maker is such a brilliant gift for kids who love crafting. From the moment we opened the box, it felt like there was so much to discover. It’s packed with creative potential, and we love how everything is reusable, so the fun doesn’t stop after one go. It’s not just about playtime either—kids can actually use what they make, which makes it feel even more special!

What Makes It Stand Out?

What really impressed us was how this set is designed to make crafting easy for little hands. The water pen holder is a smart addition that stops pens from rolling around while kids fill them, and the washi tape feature makes decorating pencils effortless. It’s also great to see how it inspires kids to get creative beyond the set itself—ours even used the ideas to revamp their old school supplies, which we never would have thought of before!
